Woo-hoo! The SF International Asian American Film Festival is here once again; all hail Chi-hui!
I'm busy most of the week (though the list below doesn't look like it, but unfortunately I'll be missing the new Lin / Byler / Weesethakul films), but I'm certainly checking these out:
Ato Bautista's Blackout:
Arthur Dong's Hollywood Chinese:
Hong Sang-soo's Woman on the Beach:
Romeo Candido's Ang Pamana:
and maybe Johnnie To's Exiled:
I love the SF International Asian American Film Festival! I was able to see the world premiere of "The Slanted Screen" by Jeff Adachi.
Remember when Jeff visited your office last year to drop off some promotional cards for his documentary and I met you the first time?
How time flies!
Posted by: Akit on February 16, 2007 01:50 PMI've always wanted to go to that, but I can never find the time. I settle for my city's own: Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. It rocks too. (And of course, Toronto International Film Festival which I never fail to attend.)
Posted by: fruityoaty on February 17, 2007 06:05 PMI'm down for the Candido flick for SURE! Did you see Lolo's Child? I lurved it. And I'm sure his flicks will be in the T.dot, since I think he's from there...
We should coordinate our calendars on google or 30boxes or something...
